Ava Outadi is a registered clinical counsellor (#18590) and a member in good standing in the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a Master in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, BC.

Ava has been working in the mental health field for the past 7 years, working with a diverse population providing support, such as to individuals with experiences of abusive relationships, youth living in precarious housing and dealing with substance use problems, and new immigrants to Canada. In her role as a counsellor, Ava has worked in post-secondary and community setting working with youth and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation.

Currently, Ava works supports youth and adults facing variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, and life transitions such as migration, career change, or change in family dynamics.

As a therapist, Ava is curiously interested in how you perceive and make sense of your world because we are all experts of our own lives. Ava believes in the healing power of telling our stories and having strong deep connections with those around us. Ava’s work draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relational modalities, and experiential techniques.

In addition to her work as counsellor, Ava works on research projects exploring substance use, access to care, and associated factors such as trauma.
